$58,200 in college scholarships awarded

Graduates of St. Joseph's Indian School!

Records show that 80% of students who graduate eighth-grade from St. Joseph’s Indian School also earn a high school diploma or GED.

St. Joseph’s Indian School is proud to announce that over $58,000 in college scholarships were awarded for the spring 2015 semester, bringing the yearly total to over $130,000 invested in the future of the Lakota youth!

Thanks to your generosity:

  • 106 financial awards were given to help Native American students in pursuing higher education.
  • 12 scholarship recipients will complete their degrees in May 2015.
  • 7 of those are alumni of St. Joseph’s Indian School.

We’re so proud of these students!” said Mary Jane, St. Joseph’s Alumni Outreach Director. “What’s even more exciting is that many of them have asked to visit campus and talk to our current students about the importance of high school and college or technical school. They are eager to give something back!”
