Tell your friends:

Pilamaya - thank you!

Lakota students learn about their heritage.
Our Native American Studies class and annual powwow help the Lakota (Sioux) boys and girls connect with their heritage.
Wopila tanka - many thanks - for your generosity in helping us raise the funds needed to cover St. Joseph’s utility expenses! Thanks to you, the Lakota boys and girls will be warm - their classrooms and homes will be cozy and well-lit.

With more than 50 buildings to keep warm, heating is a tremendous expense for St. Joseph’s Indian School ... and one that can’t be compromised. We must always be aware of this cost and prepare for the worst. Your generosity and prayers are greatly appreciated!

Our professional facilities crew has undertaken a number of projects to improve efficiency and cut these costs. Some of these projects include:
  • Added insulation and more energy efficient windows
  • More efficient LED lights in homes and classrooms
  • Working with our electric company to cut down our peak hours, which results in savings
Kelly and Erin work on their homework with their houseparent.
Loving houseparents in each of our 19 student homes provide the Native American children with a safe, healthy home.
St. Joseph’s Indian School is privately funded by many caring friends who believe in our mission, and want to make a difference in the life of the Lakota (Sioux) children we serve. Thanks to you, we continue to provide help for Native American children who are in need of our services.

One by one, people just like you make our work possible.

Pilamaya - thank you - for helping us meet each Lakota child’s basic needs. In addition, St. Joseph’s provides college scholarships, programs that strengthen family relationships, nutritious food and cultural education for Native American children.
