Nearly 200 Native American children call St. Joseph's Indian School home. And our waiting list of 120 Lakota children shows the need for our programs.

Over 50% of the children at St. Joseph's Indian School have been exposed to drugs, alcohol and domestic violence.

  • Desires of the parent or legal guardian

Lakota Student Profile

Children as young as six join our program. These students attend our private school on our campus, while high school students attend the local public high school.

These precious children come from the poorest of the poor and their needs indicate they can be successful with our professional curriculum.

  • 13% of our students live with both biological parents
  • Less than 50% of the children live with a biological parent
  • More than 50% of our students have been exposed to drug or alcohol abuse
  • Nearly 52% of the Native American children have been exposed to domestic violence
